Check out the highlights from the UK Independent Vert Series 2018 Blackpool Leg, which took place a couple of weekends back, courtesy of Elliott Mallinson who has gone and uploaded both the A Group and Masters highlights to his Youtube channel. This was the second round of the year following on from the Mount Hawke leg that kicked things off (you can check out both the A Group and Masters highlights from that one if you require a further vertical fix) and looks like it went off just as hard – such is the power of the strict ‘beige food or ice cream’ diet which Blackpool council enforces rigidly, making sure that only those with arteries of steel need attend.
There’s pretty much three generations of skateboarders featured in the edits below, everyone is going for it regardless of age and, all round, it’s a solid example of just how good the UK vert scene is right now. You can see more of both Alex Griffiths and Greg Nowik in our Skaterham ‘Terrain Spotting’ article, which will also be hosting a leg of the UK Independent Vert Series later in the year. As usual mad props to the UK Independent Vert Series organisers – check their website for details of the rest of the year’s events and then pad up, head down to one or more of the legs and soak in the radness/pad stench to your hearts content!
A Group highlights with Jake Anderson, Jim Langran, Oakley Liddell, Adam Williams, Alex Griffiths, Zak Kutz, Logan Dell, Finley Kirkby and Lucio Oliveira.
Masters highlights with Dave Allen, Greg Nowik, Paul Atkins, Chris Hudson, Sean Goff, Mat Marlow, Richard Styles, Gaz Hughes, Jon Nixon, Lee James, Chris Harris and Matt Leese.
