We recently spent a week on the road dodging the rain and hitting some legendary UK concrete with Rune Glifberg, Sam Beckett, Raven Tershy and Ben Hatchell (more on that to follow), which reminded us of this classic Sunday Service fodder courtesy of the Danish Destroyer…
Way back in 1992, Rollersnakes managed to squeeze a session in at the then ‘still being built’ Radlands Skatepark in Northampton. Desipte the street course still being worked on in the footage, Deathbox (soon to be Flip…) rider Rune Glifberg was over on these shores and managed to seriously hammer home one of the first known sessions on the recently completed vert ramp, alongside Deathbox OG Pete Dossett.
Over the years that followed, Radlands would prove itself to be a landmark of international significance, not only housing UK championships which drew in names from all over the skateboarding world, it also provided a much needed undercover home for such talent as Tom Penny, Carl Shipman, Alex Moul, Danny Wainwright, Rodney Clarke, Ali Cairns, and pretty much any other UK head of note who came to prominence during the 1990s.
Anyway, that’s enough from me – hit the play button below now and enjoy some vintage footage of Rune in Northampton, and be sure to keep an eye out as Rollersnakes continue to upload clips from their vast Video Log archive.
