Teaching kids to skate in the Philippines

Philippines based web series ‘Tronche De Vie’ presents a short documentary on 66 year old skater Steve ‘Cholo’ Ellis, a friend of Jay Adams who lives in the Philippines and teaches kids to skate. Growing up inĀ the United States and witnessing the birth of pool skating, Steve ended up moving to Hawaii andĀ helping to build the legendary Cholo Bowl before ending up in the Philippines, building ramps and helping to teach kids to skate.

This documentary covers Steve’s upbringing, his entrepreneurial enterprises throughout the years, hanging out with Jay, why he moved to the Philippines, feeding street kids there, why he feels like skateboarding is good for kids and plenty more. Steve has clearly found the fountain of life via skateboarding (as if you didn’t know that already) and this should bring some joy into the most jaded of online skate video critic, so press play and enjoy…
