So here we are again – The Big Push 2012.
This year we have a new addition to the Big Push stalwarts in the form of team Osiris, who will join teams from Vans, DC, adidas and Emerica and take to the roads of the UK in search of terrain new and old finishing up for a mass bro-down in Liverpool.
This year we’ve switched everything around to freshen things up and to avoid tactical ‘snide’ voting.
Big Push 2012 will see the readers of the mag voting for their favourite skater from each team, as well as an overall ‘best trick’ from all the edits. The winners of these online votes will be rewarded with lovely, lovely money.
The other big change this year will be that the winners of the best edit will be determined by voting from the participating skaters themselves – rather than online as in previous years.
After repeated complaints about proxy-voting scandals and whatnot, we thought that giving the skaters on the Big Push the vote would be the fairest way to decide the winners.
Additionally there will be a £500 prize for the team who completes the most tasks set by our good selves.
In short – we’ve made it fairer and divided the prize money differently so that all those taking part get a chance to clutch some booty of their own.
As ever we’ve got the Mad Hatters list of retarded tricks to attempt for points including such wonders as the road gap early grab, the presumably impossible frontside lipslide heelflip out and various others along with tasks based on recreating iconic photos from Sidewalk and Document.
Basically, more nonsense, more skateboarding and more chances for those involved to win some beer tokens.
Now let’s just pray that it doesn’t chuck it down…
As ever, keep an eye on bigpush.mpora.com throughout the week for blog photos, video clips and tales from the roads of the UK. Also, check out the limited edition subs deal whilst you’re there to see about how you can get your mitts on some exclusive Big Push merchandise…
