The adidas Skate Copa Court Tour hits London this Sunday, the 25th of June, with an obstacle tailor made for the occasion by Benny Fairfax, team demo and open jam. The event will take place on Blossom Street, E1 6PL, and see Benny, Jake Donnelly, Nestor Judkins, Diego Najera, Gustav Tonnesen, Gunes Ozdogan, Blondey McCoy, Chewy Cannon, Heitor Da Silva and Magnus Bordewick in attendance. adidas Skateboarding brings its Global Skate Copa Court tour to London on 25th of June. Taking over courts in 12 key cities around the globe, adidas Skateboarding aims to support local communities and skate shops while encouraging innovation and originality through friendly competition for the next generation of skaters.
The premiere event will feature team demos from the brand’s roster of Pro team riders followed by an open skate shop jam that invites local skate shops to participate for cash prizes. Rounding out the competition is the “adidas Blackbird Best Trick Contest” for the best trick by each competing skate shops.
The “adidas Blackbird Best Trick Contest” features a unique ‘Blackbird’ obstacle that is designed under the creative direction of select adidas team riders for the various cities the series is being held. Representing the ‘Blackbird’ obstacle design for London is pro team rider Benny Fairfax, who gave his creative vision for the layout to reflect his unique riding style.
Bookending the contest, Pro riders, skate shop teams, and the local community are open to skate the unique obstacles, which will feature custom artwork from hand-selected local artists. The unique obstacle will also be donated to live on long after the event to benefit the local community.
