With Dickies set to release their SS18 collection into the wild right about now, we grabbed a chance to have a look at a few of the pieces from this season’s drop to give you a heads up on what to expect from every skateboarder’s favourite hard-wearing apparel outfit.
Head over to www.dickieslife.com to see the full range if this doesn’t satisfy your desire for street fashion influenced workwear.
First up – the Dickies Slim Fit Straight Work Pants in ‘Energy Orange’.
These Dickies 873 pants are a modified take on the perennial Dickies staple – the 874 work pant. Whether this particular colourway and cut draws inspiration from grafters resurfacing the M1 looking for a more flattering fit, or is down to the influence of newer Dickies ambassadors such as Allysha Le looking for a slimmer, more streetwear inspired silhouette alongside the hi-vis heritage is open to debate, but either way – these are going to be popular this summer.
With a lower rise than the 874, meaning the pants sit below the waist, and a straight cut leg with a narrower overall fit, these bright lads host Dickies’ durable 65% polyester 35% cotton mix, and with their wrinkle and stain resistant properties, you’ll be knee sliding across Canada Water safe in the knowledge that they won’t rip, you’ll look ‘lit’, and that no amount of spilled Quinoa is going to tarnish your strides.
NB: If ‘Energy Orange’ is too hectic for you, these 873’s also come in a wide range of colours with everything from a more conservative black, to a risky but potentially paradigm-shifting ice-white available.
Go forth and spread the trouser gospel.
