Diamond Supply Co. x Deathwish summer 2018 collection

If you’ve been paying attention then you’ll already know that the Diamond footwear team have been blasting their way around Europe of late, including a brief sojourn in the UK last month, as part of the promotional effort for the Diamond Supply Co. x Deathwish summer 2018 collection that you can see here.
If for whatever reason, you managed to miss out of the Diamond crew smashing London and Manchester, then before you delve any further, here’s a little recap of some of what went on.
Prior to Jamie Foy and co descending on Southbank, we also managed to squeeze in time for a little Mile End session with current SOTY Jamie Foy, the results of which you can see here: 30 minutes in London with Jamie Foy. Additionally, the combined force of Mr Foy, Brandon Biebel, Torey Pudwill and Boo Johnson (ably assisted by the ever-keen Manchester locals) found time to call in at The Pump Cage to smash the shit out of the rail during another hectic demo.
Anyhow, the Diamond Supply Co. x Deathwish collabo mentioned in Jamie Foy’s interview is out now and includes some very fetching Deathwish-themed twists on various apparel staples, plus an iteration of Jamie Foy’s favourite Diamond footwear shoe, the Select Hi, complete with Deathwish logo branding on the upper, heel and tongue, along with Diamond co-branded custom insoles.

Diamond Supply Co. has teamed up with legendary skate brand Deathwish, and latest Diamond Footwear team recruit & Thrasher Skater of the Year Jamie Foy, for a limited edition capsule collection for release this July.

Featuring the iconic Deathwish logo and signature red pops, plus subtle black-on-black embroidery and screen printing, the midnight-themed collection features the Select Hi skate shoe constructed with suede in the areas you need it for added durability and comfort, plus a short and long sleeve tee, hoodie, coaches jacket, cap and stickers.

Of the collaboration, Foy says: “It’s a pretty clean but rugged collab because it’s Diamond and Deathwish. The shoe has a bunch of embroidered logos, a gang logo on the side, with the Deathwish font down the tongue. I’m stoked on the design because you don’t really know what it says when it’s laced up, so people are kind of interested in what it is, and once you take the shoe off you see the Deathwish part of it on the tongue, which is pretty cool.”

One of his favourite Diamond shoes, the Select Hi was his natural choice for the collection, “When I was younger, I would kind of roll my ankles a lot so I like a high top – that way you’re super sturdy. There’s a lot of lace hold so it’s tight on your foot; and it’s got a good toe, so a good flick. I just think it’s an overall a good skate shoe, it’s one of my favourites.”

The DiamondxDeathwish collaboration collection is available from July 7th online at DiamondSupplyCo.co.uk and at selected UK skate shops.
