adidas Skateboarding presents ‘MAGNUS’, the second part we’ve seen from Magnus Bordewick in the last couple of months following on from his part for Numbers Edition clip. This time he takes his trackies, as well as three stripe team mates Heitor da Silva and Hermann Stene as well as Jonatan Drab and Marcus Shaw, on a journey through Philadelphia, Taiwan and Spain.
As with his Numbers Edition clip, this one was filmed and edited by Chris Mulhern (the man behind This Time Tomorrow and an upcoming video project for which you can peep the first and second trailers via those words) and the filming and editing is spot on – even the music, which is what I imagine euthanasia to sound like, chimes perfectly with the footage displayed. Magnus is one of those skaters whose flailing arms add to his style rather than subtracting from it, offering a sense of scale to the oversized ledges and awkward spots that he makes his home. None of the spots here look exactly perfect, though I suppose that when you can loop a DIY fullpipe (Loop dat faka!) one minute and switch pop shuvit over a handrail the next then a perfectly smooth surface to try tricks on isn’t something you need to prioritise.
“”MAGNUS” is the first full-length adidas Skateboarding part by Magnus Bordewick. From his hometown of Oslo, Magnus traveled to Philadelphia, Spain and Taiwan with fellow teammates, Heitor da Silva and Hermann Stene to film the part. Sit back and enjoy the fruits of their labor.”
