Cornish lensman Elliott Mallinson has uploaded his highlights edit from the A-group finals of the Mount Hawke Vert Jam 2018, which was the first leg of this year’s UK Independent Vert Series. This one looks like it was an absolute rager of a session, with visitors from all over getting stuck into the session and Rapunzel AKA Jesse Thomas coming away with first place once the dust had settled. It’s rad to see Sean Goff still in the mix, rad to see Jake Anderson add the elusive scrambled egg to his bag of tricks and all around hype inducing to see just how hard the residents of the UK vert underbelly are killing it at the moment!
The UK Independent Vert Series has been doing a stellar job of keeping the fire lit in the vert scene here over the last few years, with their country-spanning series always seeing a solid turnout and some impressively gnarly skating. It’s rad to see the series heading to Skaterham, on which we recently focused our Terrain Spotting feature and in which resides a nicely manageable (for someone of my limited vertical talents anyway) ramp with 10′ transition and a foot of vert. Check out our coverage of the 2016 Mancunian Meltdown leg of the series, which took place at the now sadly departed Beast Rampz, for proof of just why these events are so good – full, accidental Andy Scott sectioned filmed in an afternoon anyone?
