DGK presents ‘Beware of the Underdogs’, a promo clocking in at just under ten minutes in length which showcases the younger generation on the team. Stevie Williams’ vision for the team has always remained constant and you know before even pressing play that, for example, you’re unlikely to see many backyard vert sessions popping up in the mix. This is pure, raw street and you know straight from Guru’s voice flowing out of your speakers as Jahmir Brown back smiths a waist high ledge that you’re in for some serious dopeness.
Jahmir and similarly new face Dlamini Dlamini both have short sections which show them ripping just as hard as the more established faces on the team, and Dlamini even skates to one of my personal favourite Pete Rock and CL Smooth cuts (who incidentally smashed it at the Jazz Cafe in Camden last year. They rinsed ‘They Reminisce Over You’ a bit, but fair play I guess). The rest of the video is made up of a couple of montages which should scratch the itch if you’ve been in need of some stylish, technical ripping in your life (and who isn’t). In the midst of it all, Quel Haddox heelflips up a fucking double set. I mean it’s a two flat two but still, the gap between is no joke – shit is bonkers…
Featuring Jahmir Brown, John Shanahan, Dylan Sourbeer, Kevin Bilyeu, Dane Vaughn, Marquise Henry, Wade Desarmo, Quel Haddox, Dlamini Dlamini, Derrick Wilson, Boo Johnson, Adrian McCoy, Tyreek Morrison, Will Mazzari, Woogie Jackson, Juan Moreno, Kevin Viernes, Kevin Scott, Dwayne Fagundes and Maurice Jordan.
Filmed and edited by Brad Rosado.
“DGK’s newest film “Beware of the Underdogs” showcases the unseen talent that DGK has been fostering for the past few years. From East to West, this video has something for everyone.”
