Early last Autumn, Supra Footwear embarked on the #WeAreSupra European skate tour to hit various cities on the continent in their annual Euro mission. This is a long standing tradition for the Supra squad and never fails to produce some top notch skateboarding, even without a return to their one time digs in Bristol. Portugal, Belgium and France are the countries of choice for this one, a combination which offers up an eclectic and aesthetically enjoyable medley of terrain for their crew of all terrain rippers to get stuck in to. While the weather shits on our hopes and dreams outside, remind yourself of that vaguely remembered time when you could go outside without five coats on and with minimal chance of getting your skateboard so sodden that it feels like you’re skating on a piece of cooked spaghetti…
Their are plenty of rewind moments in this one, with highlights including Clint Walker‘s nollie backside heel hippy jump at 1:28, Oscar Candon‘s frontside wallride through pure crust at 2:08 and especially Jim Greco‘s unveiling of the Fatman Grind – the 50-50 frontside 180 out which is normally the territory of the larger figured skateboarder and a powerful addition to his arsenal of tricks, though perhaps not really acceptable until he puts on a few pounds?
Kingpin were on hand to cover the Paris leg of the tour, so don’t hesitate to check out their photo gallery as well as their interviews with Jim Greco and Spencer Hamilton.
“In classic Supra tradition, a European Tour starts with a team of legendary skateboarders, several long flights, and a ton of great skateboarding. The We Are Supra Tour is no exception. Watch as Jim Greco, Lizard King, Tom Penny (yes, Tom Penny), Spencer Hamilton, Oscar Candon, Dane Vaughn, Clint Walker and Sascha Daley hit skateshops, skateparks, and everything in-between.”
