You’re all in for a massive treat because today’s Sunday Service features the Fifty Fifty Store 20 year Retrospective Mixtape Video thanks to our good friends in Bristol.
20 years is a long, long time to do anything for: running a successful, respected and hugely culturally influential independent retail store for that long is something closer to a miracle in this day and age to be brutally honest.
But that is exactly what Danny Wainwright, Justin ‘Syd’ Sydenham and a vast cast of friends, workers, lurkers, skaters, film makers and all the rest are celebrating in 2018 – Twenty Years of Fifty Fifty Skate Store.
The video which you’re about to watch is comprised of archive video stretching back over the preceding two decades, incorporating clips from all of Fifty Fifty’s video releases, plus footage from numerous trips, events and bangers culled from 411VM and various other sources.
You shouldn’t need to be told how golden this 30 minute retrospective clip from a city with probably the greatest output in the history of UK skateboarding is, but, just in case…
FIFTY FIFTY 20 year Retrospective Mixtape from FIFTY FIFTY STORE on Vimeo.
This is a look into 20 years of Bristol skate history featuring a roll call of Bristol and related heads from all eras of Fifty Fifty’s life span including the likes of James Hacker, Paul Carter, Bam, Mike Maldonado, Kerry Getz, Joe Habgood, Ali Boulala, Danny Wainwright, Flynn Trotman, Mat ‘Stalker’ Keal, Paul Alexander, Zak Pitter, Will Ainley, Dan Wileman, Korahn Gayle, Dave Snaddon, Layth Sami and tons more.
Additionally – along with the archive footage – this Fifty Fifty Store 20 year Retrospective Mixtape also comes correct with a montage of new and unseen footage at the end featuring the current crop of Fifty Fifty related heads keeping the tradition going as strongly as ever.
Do you really need convincing? Thought not.
And that’s a score of 1 from Danny Wainwright. Photo: Griff
All hail Fifty Fifty. All hail Bristol. All hail UK skateboarding.
