30 Second Thursdays – Rimini and Riccione with Manhead and Kris Vile

Skate Urb Ex on Italy's Adriatic Coast

Part of the purpose of this 30 Second Thursdays feature is to give us an excuse to dip into the archives to see what kind of random footage we can stumble across. I think it’s fair to sat that today’s broadcast more than fits that bill.
The footage below was filmed either just before, or just after the 2015 Vans Spring Classic mini ramp event which was held on the beach in Rimini, Italy.
Judging on the fact that the skaters involved here are both Vans heads (minus our good friend Luca Crestani who was no doubt along for the ride) – I think it’s safe to assume that this stuff was originally filmed for some Vans-related reason – possibly to act as ad break footage inbetween the live broadcast of the 2015 Vans Spring Classic which Google assures me happened.

Now, as you can probably guess, Italy’s Adriatic coast isn’t primarily known as a street-skating destination but what does that matter between friends? Thinking back on this one, I’m almost certain that we didn’t have access to a car and thus the spot-hunting that resulted in this clip consisted of little more than rolling around off-season seaside towns armed with hopeful optimism.
With that said, looks like the boys came up trumps to a certain degree – I mean, who doesn’t want to hop a fence and skate a derelict mini golf course? Urb Ex points to a nth degree, surely?
As ever Manhead and Kris Vile got the job done and this footage has languished on a hard drive since it was first filmed three years ago. I wonder if anyone else has skated that mini golf spot since?
