The heelflip is the kickflip’s opposite flipping counterpart – and similarly, is a lot easier when you’ve got a clean ollie already in the bag.
It is also a key building block as the motion of kicking out using your heel will be fundamental in other tricks further down the line. While it’s tempting to just put your heel ‘through’ the board when starting out, a good technique will also use the front foot slide of an ollie to give height to your heelflip.
