This is the next logical step on once you’re comfortable with boardslides. The frontside tailslide is a classic trick that can be performed on anything from ledges, to rails, to vert ramps, so concentrate on perfecting your technique and then take it to the next level. The most important aspect of this trick is to lock your tail into the slide against the edge of the obstacle, so make sure you ollie high enough to get on top of the ledge.

01
Approach your chosen obstacle at a good speed with your feet in ollie position at a parallel angle.

02
Compress and get ready to pop whilst spotting the point where you are going to start your tailslide.

03
As you reach the obstacle, lift up and get ready to pop and ollie high enough to get above the obstacle.

04
Pop your tail and ollie and begin to turn your shoulders so that you start to turn 90 degrees in a frontside direction.
