The nollie is a gateway trick that also doubles as an introduction to switchstance or ‘switch’ riding (performing tricks in the opposite direction to your natural stance, swapping goofy for regular stance or visa versa).
If you’re comfortable with basic tricks, nollies will get you used to popping from the other foot, and getting these down properly will help you when you start learning nollie flip tricks too. A nollie is basically a switchstance fakie ollie, and it can help to visualise this while attempting the nollie. Don’t expect to pop your nollies as high as the one featured here at first; it takes a while to work out the timing and popping technique.
