Vans Pro Skate Park Series Malmo – May 26th – 27th

The Vans Pro Skate Park Series hits Malmo in Sweden this weekend with two days of concrete carnage going down at Kroksbäck Skatepark, which was built specifically for last year’s event before being donated to the city.

Alex Sorgente backside blunts at Kroksbäck Skatepark
Vans Park Series (VPS), the official park terrain skateboarding World Championship tour, returns to Malmö, Sweden, home of the world’s first permanent VPS-certified park terrain competition course, Kroksbäck Skatepark.
VPS Men’s Pro Tour event semis and finals will be broadcast live on Saturday, May 27 as VPS Select Pros like Pedro Barros, Raven Tershy, Ishod Wair and current World Champion Alex Sorgente battle it out against top qualifying Men’s Pro Tour challengers like Tom Schaar, Murilo Peres, Willy Lara and more in this, the third stop on the road to Shanghai, China and park terrain skateboarding’s official VPS World Championships, September 23.
Preceding Saturday’s webcasted main event, once again Malmö, Sweden’s Kroksbäck Skatepark will play host on Friday to another historic event in the evolution of global park terrain competition with the VPS Europa Continental Championships and the official crowning of skateboarding’s first ever men’s and women’s European park terrain skateboarding champions. VPS event attendees will be treated this week to exciting performances from regional heroes such as Rune Glifberg (Denmark), Sam Beckett (UK), Vincent Matheron (France) andMartino Cattaneo (Switzerland) along with ten qualifying female competitors including Amelia Brodka (Poland) and Stephanie Nurding (UK). Introduced this year, the VPS Continental Championships provide an open path for regional talent to compete alongside qualifying VPS Tour Pros in the World Championships and a chance to earn a spot on the 2018 VPS Pro Tour.
The Kroksbäck Skatepark is the world’s first VPS-certified permanent park terrain competition course and was donated in 2016 by the Vans Park Series to the community of Malmö, Sweden on the occasion of the inaugural park terrain skateboarding VPS World Championships for leading the world with their progressive support of the city’s youth through public skateboard programming and initiatives.
