More Spirit Quest hits the web for your viewing pleasure this week with Colin Read uploading ‘The Aquatic Journey’, exploring the potential of underwater skateboarding on a scale unprecedented since Dan Cates’ section intro in Better Than Life. The dedication shown here to finding spots with underwater themes in some way incorporated into their architecture can only be applauded and, with a wide array of those skaters involved in Spirit Quest popping up in this particular section of the video, not much is deemed off limits in the way of terrain. There’s even a sighting of the elusive VX flip in the mix.
As with the made to spec dub which featured in Connor Kammerer’s part in the video (which, when ordered on record, entitled you to a digital copy of the video to boot), The Aquatic Journey also features an original track by Vince Canger which is available for free download on his Bandcamp page. Vince also has a new Spirit Quest themed mixtape available now comprised of songs influenced by, and songs which were an influence on, the video itself.
For those of you down for visual stimulus to match audio enjoyment, you can get hold of a copy of Spirit Quest via Mandible Claw and enjoy Colin Read’s epic vision while, we imagine, contributing to whatever his next project may be…
Featuring the waterlogged shredding of Eby Ghafarian, Matt Town, Carlos Young, Taylor Nawrocki, Tsuyoshi Uchida, Ryan Barlow, James Coleman, Leo Valls, James Sayres, Brian Berding, John Baragwanath, Alex Reyes, Colin Read, Seimi Miyahara, Katsumi Minami, Alex Fogt, John Lindsay, Jameel Douglas, Jimmy Lannon and Takahiro Morita.

Check out more of the parts of Spirit Quest to have hit the web so far for more inspiration to dust off the VX and hit the streets (and waterways) of your own home town.
