“Never underestimate Ben Grove” ought to be a mantra for us all to be honest.
Manchester’s one and only walking enthusiasm factory has taken it upon himself to organise a two day event called The Manc Slamma because, to quote the man himself, “nobody else is doing fuck all so I’ll sort it”.
Entrance is FREE for the event, which is taking place at the Bowlers Exhibition Centre, Longbridge Road, Trafford Park, Manchester, M17 1SN and promises all manner of old school skateboard carnage, live music, DJ sets and all the rest.
Working alongside the UK Vapers Lifestyle Expo event, Grove has put a lot of work into arranging this one because as he rightly says, ‘kids these days don’t get an opportunity to go to the sort of events my generation grew up on’.
With £1500 in prize money courtesy of Monster Energy, 10k worth of product to give out, a mini ramp, wallride obstacles, tons of moveable street furniture supplied by The Ramp Supply Co and a skateable car – this sounds as if it will be an excellent weekend. And it’s FREE to get in.
Additionally, there are tons of skate-related bands playing live, DJ sets from the likes of Chris Donnelly and Leo Stanley and plenty more.
Most of the skate shops across the UK already have tickets to give to their local skate scene, but if you’ve not got hold of one and want to go – shout the @themancslamma Instagram and you’ll get sorted.
