R.A.D Magazine’s Tim Leighton-Boyce AKA ‘TLB’ podcast interview from Looking Sideways

It would be difficult to overstate the significance of the contribution of Tim Leighton-Boyce (TLB) to the global culture of skateboarding, both in the UK and across the pond.
TLB was the editor, chief photographer and general one-man media force behind the golden-era R.A.D Magazine, which at the time, (pre-Internet and back when skateboarding was tiny in comparison to today) was the main source of anything and everything skateboard culture related in the UK.

TLB is notoriously shy of attention so all praise to Matt Barr of Looking Sideways here for persuading Tim to agree to this fascinating hour-long interview, which covers everything from the early days of his involvement in skateboard and BMX photography, through his time steering the R.A.D magazine ship and much, much more.

Anyone with an interest in UK skateboarding history, (and indeed global skateboarding history) needs to take an hour out of their day, sit down with a cup of tea and prepare for an unparalleled history lesson from the man who curated and presented UK skateboarding to the world throughout the lean days of the 70’s/80’s and early 90’s.
