Here’s an obscure blast from the White Rose past for you!
“Memowrex” was the 2002 Leeds scene video filmed and edited by Rory McKenzie that, for one reason or another, never had a proper release. In all seriousness, less than ten copies of the full video exist, and the ones that do were simply dubbed onto standard VHS tapes from the lone premiere copy. Including early glimpses of the likes of Liam Sproat, Mike Wright and Fran Clarkson, along with well established Leeds heads such as Leon Bottomley, Tom Brown, James Ewans, Jay Bennett and others, the video showcased the talent that was housed in a pre The Works and (concrete) Hyde Park era Leeds.
The whole video can be watched in full now by sitting back and clicking here, with “Little” Mike Wrights first full section residing underneath this text, including early bangers from many a Leeds spot, rural Hebden Bridge lines and footage from the infamous Devonshire Green Blueprint demo!
