It Lives! The Sidewalk Forum is back…
Way back in the days of Internet 1.0 we gave birth to a den of iniquity and futile squabbling that has come to be referred to as The Sidewalk Forum.
Back in those early days (circa 2002) the Internet was basically shit, populated by nerds, 100kb porn gifs and the earliest incarnation of what are known today as ‘trolls’ – namely people who derive enjoyment from pissing other people off anonymously for no other reason than that they can do so from behind their keyboard.

As the Internet grew and metamorphosed into V 2.0 and things like YouTube, Facebook and the concept of an Internet landscape where you gave up your anonymity and added your own real-life offline identity to the utter bollocks you decide to leak into the world like a capricious tap took hold, the original hang outs of the Internet became less populated and reserved for people turned off by the fatuous narcissism of Social Media. To those old souls, the pioneering arseholes of the Internet, old style forums were a retreat away from recycled 4Chan memes claimed as OC by normies, embarrassing self-delusion and the horror of the selfie stick – the numbers of denizens may have decreased but these old, sour corners remained. The Sidewalk Forum is one such place.
Over the 15 years since it was brought to life it has hosted some truly hilarious (and futile) arguments and debates, ranging from 100+ page long Jimmy Savile conspiracy theories to Canadian company owners embarrassing themselves, along with producing lots of funny OC such as Skate Fronds and the timeless Yella Clothing thread.
Over the years, regular posters have come and gone: some went on to be successful musicians (Ginonix), others went on to be marine biologists (Bumwin) and tragically, at least one of the OG heads passed away before their time. RIP steve75.

Anyhow, the Forum such as it is, has been a constant for 15 years but last week finally chucked a benny and went offline for the longest time in its self-consciously embarrassing history. It looked for a while like it may have kicked the bucket but happily it is back and working again. So, without further ado – let battle commence. Go have a futile argument…
Oh yeah and remember – everyone says, “I don’t go on there, somebody told me about it…” you’re not kidding anyone.
