All good things must come to an end and the weekly dose of Hull Metal Jacket to your laptop screens does so here, with not only the end montage but also a bonus section from footage-clocking machine Paul Regan. Paul Regan’s bonus section was originally released to the web to coincide with the video’s release to that strange 3D world outside of your screens and whet your whist-Hull with the street antics you can now see below, as well as a classic end montage of slams, doubles, skitching, shire horse befriending and other such silliness which didn’t make it into the main body of the project.
While the video is now online in its entirety then, if you still yearn for the sweet touch of physical copies of skate videos, then you can message the Hull skate scene Facebook page to see if there are any DVD copies left. As mentioned in last week’s post, this video is a genuine scene orientated labour of love featuring everyone from OG Hull rippers (including an always welcome sighting from Blueprint legend Scott Palmer) to the younger generation and everyone in between. Skatepark footage, hidden street spots and basically everything you want from a grass roots production, go watch the other parts from Hull Metal Jacket then get out there and start filming your own!
While you’re at it, remind yourselves of Hull’s aim to become a UK skateboarding mecca in the wake of its place as UK City of Culture 2017 and start looking at train tickets to a city which, even before the decision to become skateboard friendly, was a regular stopping point for Northern missions due to a few well loved street spots and the long serving Rockcity Skatepark.
