Antihero Skateboards and Six Stair Productions presents ‘The Body Corporate’, a New Zealand tour video which morphed into a musing on what draws people to skateboarding. The video, the first that the 18 and Six Stair have collaborated on since Tent City, drops on the 25th of July, so for now you’ll have to content yourself with a brief trailer and the text from the management below…
Featuring Raney Beres, Daan Van Der Linden, Grant Taylor, Frank Gerwer, Jeff Grosso, Peter Hewitt, Brian Anderson, Julien Stranger, Chris Pfanner, Robbie Russo, Sean Gutierrez, Div Adam, Albino, Pat McLain and Austin Kanfoush.
“The Body Corporate. That wasn’t the original title I had in mind I was pushing for ‘Reality Breakdown’. But things change along the way. The vid itself came out a lot different than the vid we into it thinking we were making. And that’s not a bad thing. This is the vid we came back from New Zealand with. It morphed from wanting to tell a story about skating being an act of defiance, a path away from the status quo and spoon fed commercialism and all that lazy shit, to being the story of what drew these guys to skateboarding and why it sticks so strongly with some of us. And in the end I think it still speaks to those other ideas too, though not said out loud. These guys poured their hearts into this thing and I couldn’t be more stoked on how it came out. We hope you dig it.” – The Management
