This past week I’ve had none other than Vans and Antiz traveling OG gyppo type Aaron Sweeney sleeping on my front room floor, making the most of the temporary summer weather by missioning about to various spots and parks across the north, and before he packed his bags and ventured in a homeward direction, we managed to get his ‘favourites’ out of him.

Favourite:

Way to start the day: Alive. And kicking. Cigarette, sit for a while…I don’t do anything. Either watch TV or go skate depending on how much money I have.

Skatespot: Twickenham Post Office. There’s a ledge about knee high, and Post Office vans, which are sick. Doug managed to wallride a van – he ollied off the ledge, onto the bonnet, up the window and off.

Skatepark: Kingston ‘Tech Deck’ park. When you’re a kid and you think “wouldn’t it be good to be really small and skate your Tech Deck ramps?” – it’s like a real life version of that.

Song to listen to when skating: “Stand By Me” Ben E. King, also “Sitting On The Dock Of The Bay” by Otis Redding.

Skate video: Flip “Sorry”. “Sorry” about the generic answer.

Skate section: Even though it’s not a proper section, Mike Wrights ‘exlcusive Blueprint edit’. Or Guy Mariano on “Fully Flared”.

Movie: “Crank” it’s a sick film, or Superbad. I dunno, I’ve seen too many films to have a favourite.

Material Possession: I don’t have anything worth shit…I had a sick BB gun that I had for ages, but I broke it. It’s still my favourite material possession.

None skating pass-time: I do a load of random shit, man. Go on the internet and look at shit. Seems as I’m off to college I’ve been looking at a load of papers that other doctors have written. And YouTube.

London skater: Elliott Jones. Get to know…you’ll never know!

Skate trip to date: Both Nueu tours – Big up the Nueu tours! It is the best trip though because you’re not skating with people who are trying to rinse you, it’s more of a laugh. Everyone who’s on it don’t get to go on trips all of the time so everyone’s well hyped.

Memory from last years Nueu tour: Throwing stones at Manhead and Porno when they were stuck in the middle of the lake and they left all their clothes. There was me, Kev, Phil and Moneypenny (is he any relation to the one from Bond?) just throwing stones at them and they were stook and couldn’t get back. It lasted about 45 minutes. Or robbing 11 boxes of cereal. Or when the police turned up when me and Kev had our tent on a banking at 30 degree when we were smoking a spliff. Sick tour!

Meanwhile Kev quote: …whilst selling weed “how much does a tens weigh?” I didn’t tell him, then he fluffed out the wraps so they looked bigger.

Time in your life: When I was about 5 or 6, and people did everything for me. It was pretty good!

Special move in a game of SKATE: I would say switch front foot impossible but Nordbergs taken that, the bastard. So I’ll go with either nollie front foot flip or fakie backfoot flip.

Money saving technique: Rob people. It works. Haha.

Disturbing experience: It takes a lot to disturb me, getting maced was pretty bad, getting hit by a car was bad too, and I actually died at the dentists. They gave me an injection for a root canal, which had adrenaline in it, and I was pranging and had too much adrenaline anyway and passed out, but when I passed out I smashed my head on a porcelain dish and stopped breathing for two minutes, with the nurse and my mum fully freaking out. I fully died for two minutes, man. Now when I have the injection they have to give it to me with no adrenaline…
