Skateistan are launching a global drive to gain more help from the public, which can be done by becoming Citizen of Skateistan and donating money to the worthy cause of helping the next generation in a number of developing countries through the medium of skateboarding. The award-winning non-profit organization, Skateistan, invites you to join their global community to help empower youth through skateboarding and education.

It has been a big year for Skateistan, the sport for development organization now provides programs combining skateboarding and education to over 1500 youth in Afghanistan, Cambodia and South Africa. Their new Skate School in Johannesburg is due to open any day now, which will join those, already up and running, in Kabul, Mazar-e-Sharif and Phnom Penh. At these Skate Schools around the world, kids can study at the Back-To-School program, get creative on and off their skateboards at Skate and Create, and become role models for their peers through the Youth Leadership program. Skateboarding is a universal language, uniting people all around the world, providing the opportunity to learn, progress and belong.

This month, Skateistan is inviting you to join the Citizens of Skateistan, their global community of students, staff, supporters and skaters. Over the past 6 months, the community has been spreading around the world and in July, Skateistan aims to grow it even further. When you donate $10 or more a month, you become a Citizen of Skateistan and your contribution helps Skateistan empower youth through skateboarding and education.
