Flip Skateboards – The Long Overdue (1992)

Rune’s House of Pain scored section starts at 6:43 but Flip Skateboards’ ‘The Long Overdue’ promo, put together by Sean Goff, is well worth watching in its entirety – Andy Scott, Geoff Rowley, Alex Moul, Rune and Tom Penny equates to a powerful line up!

Hook Ups – Asian Goddess (1994)

A shared section with Tony Hawk offers up one of the best vert double bills in skateboarding, with Tony’s technical progression and Rune’s powerhouse charging complimenting each other style-wise to a tee.

Transworld – Four Wheel Drive (1996)

Pools, vert, ditches and DIY spots are all in the mix in the most well rounded section we’d seen from Rune by that point. He charges every spot put in front of him, with the high points being the switch pop shuvit on vert (insane in the first place, even better with the height and catch) and the danger feet on the heelflip frontside air backyard pool roll away.

Genie of the Lamp (1998)

Definitely one you may not have seen if you weren’t skating around this time, Danny Minnick’s ‘Genie of the Lamp’ sees Rune sharing a section with a ‘Euros in Cali’ crew of Alex Moul, Geoff Rowley and Ali Boulala. This is banging and we’d recommend watching it in full but to be honest, unless you have it lurking in a dusty pile of VHS’s somewhere, you may struggle to find it!

Flip Skateboards – Sorry (2002)

Flip Skateboards ‘Sorry’ is rightly hailed as a classic, and saw everyone involved bringing the ruckus 100% (apart from arguably John Lydon, who either holds the video together thematically or is annoying as fuck depending on your viewpoint, and I’ve yet to meet anyone with the former). Rune went all out, hitting everything from the crustiest backyard pools to the monstrous curves of Bob Burnquist’s ramp and with added cameo hype from Al Partanen, Bob Burnquist and Steve Alba amongst others. The channel-crossing blindslide switch flip and trademark flailed madonna bear repeated watches and, much like with Primus in Freedom Wig, he can somehow get away with skating to culture-appropriating fox botherers the Prodigy here…

Volcom – Chicaghof (2004)

A semi-break from proceedings here, with a surreal and dreamy Rune vert segment from Volcom’s ambitious ‘Chicaghof’. A hangover section extraordinaire!

Flip Skateboards – Extremely Sorry (2009)

Padless twists, kickflip back d’s in backyard pools and a Lance Mountain cameo – plus in the Lance pool Rune rocks the Jim Gagne steez hard, which is sick. I don’t need to mention the music, do I?

Volcom – Stone Age Clip of the Week (2011)

Volcom’s Stone Age series was sick, in particular this collection of raw footage filmed at some of the gnarliest slices of US ‘crete they could aim Glifberg at…

Burn Production – Down Under Days (2012)

Su Young Choi was on hand to capture the gnarliness which occured during Rune’s visit to Oz back in 2012, hitting a number of bowls in the Sydney area including the legendary Bondi, the incredible Manly Vale (0:28, if you’re in Sydney go out of your way to find it!) and Five Dock amongst others.

Pro-Tec – Rune Glifberg and Sam Beckett Welcome Clip (2015)

Bringing us up to date and to the end of 23 years worth of footage, the Pro-Tec helmet crew welcomes Rune alongside our own Sam Beckett to their team. Faelladparken once again gets a seeing too, as does the Vert attack ramp in Malmo. If you’re in Copenhagen this summer, chances are you’ll get to witness what new insanity Rune is laying down at the city’s concrete behemoth…
