Deko Boko is the title of an edit chronicling a Creature Skateboards mission to Japan – or, rather, a Willis Kimbel and friends trip to Japan, which sees them sampling culinary and concrete delights with equal pleasure. Sharply transitioned DIY builds, backyard vert ramps, crusty street transitions and giant ditch spots – all sorts of terrain gets covered in this one (including the lesser utilised ‘lying on your back on a busy road doing flip tricks with your legs above your head’ terrain), but the edit is as much about the destination as the journey, to turn an oft repeated cliche on its head.

Seafood, booze, neon lit city streets and bustling crowds act as the backdrop for the skateboarding within, enhancing rather than detracting from the wood and urethane side of things and acting as a way better Japanese tourism advert than the kind you’d sit irritably through before an in flight film.
