Following on from his reworked edit of the footage from a 2010 Venture UK team clip to Kent, James Harris continues his archival digging with a re-edit of his footage from Shiner’s Big Push entry way back in 2010 which saw an eclectic team of talented wood pushers roll across Scotland and the North of England hitting street spots, parks and whatever else crossed their path.

The Big Push was basically the UK’s answer to King of the Road but with less interest from the Murdoch press, started by Document way back in 2005 and continued by us after that mag’s demise until 2012. Getting a van load of idiots on the road for a week is a tried and tested formula for skateboarding fun/driver meltdowns, so getting five van loads of idiots on the road for a week was always going to throw up some amusing footage and incidental stupidity of mythical proportions – put the kettle on then peruse the Big Push tag on the site for confirmation of this, with silliness ranging from the Powley’s Angels skits to Sam Pulley’s hit single ‘Poo At Donalds‘.

Even a truncated version of Shiner Distribution’s 2010 video consisting only of James’ clips squeezes in shredding from Dan Wileman, Caradog Emanuel, Matt Davies, Carl Wilson, Matt Nevitt, Stu Graham and Barney Page, as well as Big Stu mullering his foot in the first and only time someone has attempted the ridiculous quarterpipe to flatbank transfer at Leeds’ venerable Hyde Park skatepark. Seriously, go look at that thing and imagine thinking about flying across it on a skateboard – it’s no surprise that no one has tried to step to it since. A cameo from Hebden Bridge’s tech wizard in residence Mike Wright doesn’t go amiss either!
