The 5th of February 2015 was marked by the sad news of Ideal skate shop having to close the doors of their much-loved miniramp due to rising prices, as described in this statement. While a new indoor park for Birmingham is in the discussion stages, until then I’m sure the ramp will be sorely missed by local heads and travelers to the Midlands alike. After a good few years keeping the stoke alive among the local skate community, a solid amount of footage and photos has been amassed. Here is our online salute to both shop and ramp, consisting of some of that footage – long live Ideal!
