This week the UKSA announced plans to hold a national championships
in 2008. Although a date and venue are yet to be finalised, the event has been penciled in for early
September. The event will feature a vert and street
event as well as some random best trick comps.
Event organiser and UKSA head judge Nic Powley had the following to say:
“Over the past
few years skaters have taken back skating for themselves, skater run
events like War of the Roses, Blockless Combat, Concrete Carnival,
War of the Thistle, Deathrace and the Seaside Sessions have all
helped to prove that comps can be a good laugh and a great way of
catching up with mates from all over the country. The older amongst
us are quick to comment on how good Radlands and St Albans comps were
back in the day, hopefully this will be a chance for a younger
generation to enjoy the experience.”
More details will be announced over the coming months, so keep your eyes peeled!
For now, look at the following picture of Andy Scotts lein to tail that accompanies the press release and be stoked!
