Traffic Skateboards ‘Look Left’ – Mark Wetzel

Raw US East Coast ledge destruction

Live Skateboard Media present Mark Wetzel‘s raw as fuck section from Traffic Skateboards‘ recent full length video ‘Look Left’, joining Hiroki Muroaka’sKevin Coakley’s and Luke Malaney’s in residing on the world wide web. Mark’s quick feet and unique approach to the art of technical ledge skating is a solid fit for Ricky Oyola’s crew. Flowing East Coast plaza lines, rugged spots and obscure but stylish ledge combos all set to jazz makes for a proper 90s style, Eastern Exposure-esque viewing experience, as do the Ricky Oyola and Rich Adler cameos! The Palomino just got a restock of the DVDs as well and we can definitely recommend picking one up.

The line which finishes with the cab nosebonk at 2:09 is particularly worthy of note, you don’t get too many of them to the pound…

Live Skateboard Media also have an interview which Aymeric Nocus conducted with Mark that you can check out by clicking on the quote below, which covers growing up skating on the East Coast of the United States, asking Ricky Oyola to join Traffic, filming for Static II in Italy, his involvement in later Static projects, his input into Traffic graphics and much more.

I was always into guys that did innovative or just different ledge tricks. Tim O’Connor, Guy Mariano, and Marc Johnson always did ledge tricks that you did not see anybody else doing. It would be difficult, but the fact that they thought to do it, had a difficulty as well. Those guys did original shit. They were not impersonating something they already saw, they were making something for others to impersonate.
