On the 19th June, the annual Girl Skate Jam was held at Pioneer Skate Park, St. Albans. The competition, now in it’s 9th year, is one of the most popular on the female skateboarding calender, this year being no exception – attracting a wide range of riders from all over the UK (including such exotic locations as Glasgow, Hartlepool, London, Cardiff, Birmingham) and also from across Europe (Czech, Italy, Belgium and Poland). For the first time this year there were entrants from further afield – New Zealand and Australia. One of the judges even traveled over from Japan!
