Stalwart face in the UK scene and archivist extraordinaire Mark ‘Trawler’ Lawer is currently putting together his second book chronicling the largely undocumented early days of the original 1970’s skatepark boom in the UK.
Following up from his celebrated Sk8-80’s book which came out 2015, Snakes & Moguls will follow a similar theme concentrating on the pre-video, pre-Internet era of UK skateboarding which, to all intents and purposes, barely exists outside the dwindling collections of skate magazine hoarders across the country.
Snakes & Moguls is due for release in late October of this year and will be 220 pages in colour and black and white, covering 35 skateparks from the 1977 – 1982 period with photos by the likes of Alex Williams and Ben Lidell and lay out by Ian Roxburgh of R.A.D. magazine fame.
