Impossible launch Skateistan collaboration film

A rad new collaboration is in the works between Skateistan and Impossible, the company who rescued Polaroid’s machines when the factory went under. Scroll past the photo for the press release and keep an eye out for it on August 11th!

Impossible are excited to announce an instant film collaboration with Skateistan, an international non-profit organization that uses skateboarding to change kids lives.

Since saving the last Polaroid factory back in 2008, Impossible have been creating new instant film for the 200 million classic Polaroid cameras still in circulation.

Influenced by Afghan textiles, the special edition B&W instant film features eight white frames decorated with the signature Skateistan details.

The film will be available from the 11th August with a percentage of each pack price going to the charity to help continue its work in sport and education with young people around the world.

Starting out as a grassroots ‘Sport for Development’ project on the streets of Kabul in 2007, Skateistan has become an award-winning, international NGO with projects in Afghanistan, Cambodia and South Africa. Skateistan is the first international development initiative to combine skateboarding and education.

Sharing a mutual belief in learning through creativity, Impossible initially supported the international skateboarding charity in 2014. Supplying cameras and film to all 4 locations of the charity, Impossible backed the charity’s international photojournalism project, which involved students and youth leaders interviewing and photographing each other with the film and cameras.

Skateistan founder and CEO Oliver “Having enjoyed working with Impossible last year we were excited to further cement our relationship. It is a fantastic feeling to think that people will be shooting our film all over the world and in turn creating more opportunities and empowering the young people that we work with.”

The film will be available online from the Impossible website and selected retailers from the 11th August 2015 at the price of €21 (or equivalent local currency).
