Skate Crates – The Artist formerly known as Biffa – Part 1

Episode 5 of Andy Evans Skate Crates - Paul 'Biffa' Clenton

Andy Evans is back with more mid 90’s archive madness in the latest episode of his first season of Skate Crates.
This time around it’s Part 1 of two episodes focusing on Birmingham’s camo trouser wearing court jester of skateboarding Paul ‘Biffa’ Clenton. Anyone around in the UK skate scene from the mid-80’s through to the early 00’s will know him, for those who don’t – this is the guy dressed up as a gorilla rollerblading through Wolverhampton on Andy Evan’s ‘Chillin’ video.
We’re not entirely sure where Paul is right now – conflicting reports have him either in Borneo working for an ecological charity or in deepest Russia teaching English and jumping out of cupboards on state television but, where ever he is, you can guarantee he’ll be taking the piss or mocking figures of authority who deserve it.
(For context – the cops and robbers skit dates back to the days of Birmingham instituting their city-wide ban on skateboarding).
All hail the artist formerly known as ‘Biffa’. Skateboarding is not serious.
