Sean Dahlberg – 2two2 with Oski, Max Palmer, Alex Olson and more

New York City scene hype from Sean Dahlberg

Sean Dahlberg’s 2two2 video, comprised predominantly of re-edited clips from the 917 Video, is the best advertisement for New York City street skating we’ve seen in some time. With footage from various familiar and less familiar New York based faces, alongside a bevy of Euro heads in the mix and a soundtrack that could be described as straddling the fence between eclectic and schizophrenic, this is bound to stoke you out even if you’ve seen the majority of these clips in the 917 Video when Alex Olson dropped it out of the blue early last Autumn.

New York City has an iconic place within skateboarding culture, especially over here where cracked floors and cold weather offered a more relatable to the bleached pools and tanned surfers skating them that was so long associated with California. Even now, after a proper skate media circus in the few years since low key, rough spot city skating has reached the forefront of skateboarding fashion, this will probably have a bunch of kids raising the bottom of their trousers and heading out to find a good curb.

This one contains a shit ton of Brooklyn Banks footage, a wide array of spots getting hit from every angle and a solid dollop of slams, public mid-skate breakdowns and cigarette smoking dotted throughout for good measure. Even the slow motion use, normally guaranteed to put me off, doesn’t grate here.

“If you’re in to New York skateboarding you’ll like this edit. Featuring some of favourite Europeans as well as plenty of the NYC crew. You might recognise some of the footage in this from the 917 video.”

Featuring the skateboarding of Stu Kirst, Nik Stain, Ben Kadow, Andrew Wilson, Max Palmer, Nolan Benfield, Cruz Mendez, Jack Greer, Tyler Gilbert, Alex Olson, John Choi, Stephen Ostrowski, Cooper Winterson, Zach Malfa-Kowalski, Cyrus Bennett, Vincent Touzery, Oskar Rozenberg, Hjalte Halberg, Hugo Boserup, Mitchell Wilson, Joe Marchese, Conor Prunty, Kevin Davis and Jesse Alba.
