Now in their 6th year, the Rubicon Skate Camps are back this Summer with 5 more camps including a ‘Girls Only’ one. More like a fun skate tour – each camp will visit 12+ different skateparks each week with pro riders. Lined up already for different weeks they’ve got the likes of Dave Wallace, Kris Vile, Craig Smedley and Curtis Jhesta and for the girls camp Andrea and Julia Wilshusen from Barcelona, all of whom will joining trusty residents like Geoff Else, James Hewett and Emma Richardson.
The open style of the camps means kids get to visit more parks in 1 week than they’ll probably ever do again – and whilst there are always some popular choices like Radlands Plaza, Stoke-on-Trent Plaza, Hereford and Oxford, you’re just as likely to visit some lesser known gems like Farringdon, Clifton, Huyton and Wolverhampton – or anywhere that takes the groups fancy each day. The ‘skate till you drop’ mentality often sees 10 hour sessions going down, and the funky new indoor accommodation in the woods outside Birmingham lets the group end the night with BBQ action, Xbox sessions and night-time rails.
Open to all ages and abilities, the camp now sees riders coming from all over the UK as well as loads of other countries to spend a week of non-stop skating. Everyone who comes gets a goodybag of proddy – and there’s always loads of filming going on too, so you can make yourself a tasty edit from the week.
