A selection of the UK Vans crew just returned from a fortnight long trip to Cuba, with Powley, Chris Oliver, Ste Roe, Ben Grove, Tom Knox, Gorgeous Dave, Pete King and James Gardner on board. An article will be appearing in the mag in the not too distant future, with full ‘Ableye’ edits in the pipeline, too.
Powley’s provided us with a ton of snapshots from the trip, so all this week we’ll be bringing you Cuba based bloggings to wet your whistle until the actual coverage arrives. Enjoy…

This old bag wanted money for having her photo taken, I told her she should be the one paying me.
This is 23 & G – The number one lurking spot for the Havana skate crew. At night it was a nice spot to hang out after a club.
Sometimes Grove is so funny I could just punch him in the nose. Look how happy Gardner looks as usual!
After swimming in sewage and other debris Chris was the only person who came out cleaner than they went in.
Rogie immersed himself in the local party scene more than most, the locals loved him. Some say he left his heart in Havana.
This is Rodney, all the Cubans think he’s mad and say he looks like Homer Simpson. He had the hook ups though and turned up at our hotel with pretty much anything you asked him for like cigars, booze etc. On our last days he bought us all presents to say thanks for coming, what a ruler.
I think Ste was the only one of us to bump into Ryan Sheckler, which is pretty remarkable. I reckon the Cubans told him what c*nts we are and he kept the hell out of our way.
This thing makes a far better waterslide than roll in. Leo nearly fell through the platform. Havanas only skatepark.
Tom fell in with the wrong crowd over there! Thug life.
Skateboards are thin on the ground over there but these ghetto boards are all the rage.
