Peter Hellicar speaks to the Looking Sideways podcast.
Now this is truly ‘good pod’.
Looking Sideways is a podcast based in Brighton run by Permanent Publishing alumni Matt Barr that focuses on people within the action sports community.
Episode 10 is the first skateboard based episode of Looking Sideways and sees Matt sit down in a music studio with Pete Hellicar to discuss growing up skateboarding in the 1980’s, founding Unabomber Skateboards, living in the States and working as the Sole Technologies art director, moving on to his current work as an artist and designer working in many different areas, including being responsible for the interior design of London’s House of Vans.
Pete Hellicar is a truly influential character within UK skateboarding history and whether you’re old enough to remember him as “that guy who used to destroy Broadmarsh Banks with Alan Rushbrooke” or you’re young enough to not know who he is, this will still be an edifying and life-affirming hour of your time.
