Ninety One Skateboards VX Footage Dump

Blair McCafferty, Ferg and more hit the streets and parks of Scotland and Barcelona

Scottish worshippers of 90s stunt planking Ninety One Skateboards have put together a whopping ten minutes of VX bangers ‘Big Wheels Little Pants’ for you to enjoy, filmed partially in the depths of Scotland and partially in the much warmer environs of Barcelona and its wealth of street furniture for the discerning skateboarder. Not that Scotland doesn’t have that, it’s just a touch colder and damper…

For those of you unfamiliar with Ninety One, their website describes them as “…a fun, light hearted take on the golden era of skateboarding in the 90’s” and we wouldn’t be caught arguing with that, especially with an appearance from Spirit of the Blitz alumni and OG Scottish street ripper Blair McCafferty in the mix! A combination of UK and Euro street footage interspersed with clips from various Scottish skateparks (including a brief appearance from the venerable Livingston Skatepark) and a blast of Barcelona’s Spotter DIY and Mar Bella Skatepark make for an interestingly varied watch, as does the amount of heads involved – alongside Blair, the video also features shredding from Ferg, Petay Franz, Cameron Stuart, Mac, Matthew Smith, Laing Hodson and Lewis Allan. Edinburgh staple and recently refurbished street skating mecca Bristo Square makes an always welcome appearance, as well as a variety of lesser seen spots that we assume have been hunted down in the depths of Scottish suburbia, offering up the opportunity to witness plenty of hidden gems being hit hard by the crew.

Ninety One also recently released a dope collaboration with Edinburgh’s Focus Skate Store, with ‘The Slumbering Scotsman‘ homage to a Jovontae Turner classic expected to be available by mid January. If you’re hungry for more Scottish all terrain skateboarding after watching the clip below, then you could do far, far worse than putting the kettle on and working your way through Focus’ hefty back catalogue of video footage! You can thank us later…
