Hop King – a beer company with a skateboarding problem

Skateboarding and beer, the perfect combination

Hop King is a beer company launched in July 2017 by two brothers, Ben and Ludi Hopkinson, who are in the process of setting up a skate team to represent the brand. While in some hands this could be a non-starter, as the two are both part of the North London skate scene and have already hooked up Scottish all terrain beast John Connolly then we’re pretty excited to see where this goes.

Check out their first promo video made by Objekt Films here, read more about the company below and keep an eye out for something special coming soon – we’re planning a jam of some variety with these guys in the new year and, while details of places and times are still murky, we can guarantee skateboarding and booze!

Hit up Hop_King on Instagram, or the contact page of their website, if you are interested in being a part of their team.

Hop King was begun by Ben Hopkinson using a home brewing kit before being produced on a large scale in a Yorkshire brewery. The slogan “EASY DRINKING, EASILY UNDERSTANDABLE, EASILY RECOGNISABLE” relates to the beer’s light, accessible nature, perfect for skateboarding refreshment when you realise that the four wheeled woodplank and pints of stout don’t necessarily make for happy bedfellows.
Hop King are possibly (and to our knowledge) the UK’s first dual skateboarding and craft beer company and will be hosting various skateboard events in 2018, so keep your eyes peeled!
