Hold Tight London presents ‘The Holborn Tea Party’, a video celebrating the 5th anniversary of the inaugural Long Live Southbank campaign film 40 Years Later and the 10th year of Hold Tight London dropping semi-regular moving postcards from the capital’s skate scene. With Henry Edwards-Wood curating his own personal favourites from ten years of London skate documentation, this one takes Southbank as its base but spreads far and wide across the city in pursuit of ever more varied street furniture. As such, it offers up one of the best examples of why you should visit London that we’ve seen in a while – if the city had a skate tourism board, this would be essential viewing for all its staff.
Featuring Taylor Lewis, Joel Banner, Jin Shimizu, Jeremy Jones, Josh Jennings, Jake Bidmead, Domas Glatkauskas, Cameron Gooden, Nelly Mayele, Elliott Wright, Emeka, Tom Moatti, Valentine Katz, Casper Brooker and many more.
“In commemoration of the 5th anniversary of the inaugural Long Live Southbank campaign film “40 Years Later” and the 10th year of the HTL London scene archiving project in general, the auteur formerly known as Henry Edwards-Wood has put together his favourite and most potent pickings from the Mary Poppins bag that is the Archigram CTU central video archives.
Featuring skateboarding and chivalry from crews and independents such as Theobalds Cap Co., Reup Hardware Co., BMT and the Real LLSB, this film sets out to keep alight the torch that Emeka lit at the Declaration of Preservation 2014 (see The House Of Reup) and to preserve invaluable Lambeth skate folklore during the oncoming Olympic siege that lies perilously ahead in a potentially turbulent chapter in the Hold Tight London saga.”
