The Brixton’s Baddest X LLSB Summer Jam will be taking place on Saturday the 14th of July, with two of South London’s finest bringers of the craic joining forces for a day of jams, music and general good vibes down by the banks of the Thames. Long Live Southbank volunteers will be on hand throughout the day to discuss the proposed re-opening of the currently closed area of The Undercroft, which is what the current fundraising is aimed towards, and there will be DJs on hand to provide music as well as summer refreshments.
On top of that, there will be a bunch of as yet unspecified obstacles to be skated on the day which should open up some interesting new lines at one of the longest serving spots in UK skateboarding. Long Live Southbank and Brixton’s Baddest are an example of just how much can be done when you take your scene into your own hands, changing things through grass roots action rather than letting things be pushed into the direction that the nebulous forces of neoliberalism would like them to go. On top of that, neither group is a stranger to throwing a party – in other words, this is definitely an event to find yourself at if you happen to be in London over that weekend!
“Southbank Summer Jam is a coming together of skater owned pillars of the South London Scene, Brixton’s Baddest, and Long Live Southbank.
Throughout the day we have skate schools, best trick comps, throwouts, musical vibes, summer time refreshments and hype skating.
If you don’t skate you can still come through to catch up with the LLSB volunteers on hand. If you do skate then definately come through to support the cause with big tricks and to remind us all what we’re fundraising for!”
