With plans the 20 storey tower proposed for the area next to Stockwell Skatepark now submitted, the future is looking a bit dodgy for one of the best skateparks in the country. Gentrification is hitting Brixton and Stockwell hard already and the locals are fighting tooth and nail to make sure that not only is the park safe, but that the green area next to the park is kept public as well rather than swallowed up by the development and leaving the way open for noise complaint etc. which could have an adverse effect on the park’s future.
