It’s undeniable that since the magazine’s inception all the way back in 1981, Thrasher has risen to become the most iconic publication in the history of skateboarding. Published by High Speed in San Francisco and currently headed up by the duo of Jake Phelps and Mike Burnett, Thrasher has evolved alongside the ever-changing face of the skateboarding media and in 2017 can still boast of a monthly paid for magazine, a website which is constantly updated with the latest top tier video content from across the globe, and an Instagram account that currently has upwards of 3.6 million followers.

Alongside all of this, official Thrasher merchandise has become a formidable brand in its own right, with tee shirts, hoodies and anything else you can possibly think of sporting the iconic Thrasher logo becoming some of the most sought after clothing items of recent years.

Everyone from high profile models to platinum selling musicians have been spotted proudly wearing Thrasher branded garments, leading to a global buying frenzy which has sent fashion conscious individuals to skateshops in droves, all hopeful of getting their eager mitts on any clothing they can that sports the much coveted magazine logo.

Collaborations with the likes of street-wear giants Supreme and footwear staples such as Vans have obviously served to further cement Thrasher’s position in the fashion world.

This particular ‘Skate and Destroy’ logo – created by Craig Stecyk III – has been run by the magazine for decades, and was even used as branding for their 1999 Playstation game of the same name.
