Lovenskate – Skateboard Deck Review – Drink Tea Get Rad

An overview of Lovenskate Skateboards along with a 'Drink Tea Get Rad' deck review

Currently based in Tottenham, North London, Lovenskate is the brainchild of one of the most enthusiastic skateboarders to hail from the British Isles, Stuart Smith, who established the company back in 2001.

Since the very beginning, Lovenskate has always been more than simply ‘a board brand’. Each of Stu’s graphics is unique and inspired, and the boards are all individually hand-screened at Lovenskate’s HQ and sold in strictly limited quantities. Aside from the boards themselves, Lovenskate also print t-shirts and clothing, produce zines and create collectables, all of which are available at stockists nationwide and can also be bought direct through their website.

The Lovenskate team currently plays home to a select gaggle of enthusiastic British based humans, including the likes of Jordan Thackeray, Alex Hallford and Aaron Wilmot. Having being part of the good ship Lovenskate since near enough day one, Stu made the call to turn Crawley’s very own Lucy Adams pro earlier in 2017, and her debut ‘Master of Camouflage’ pro deck can be found in stores nationwide right now.

The ‘Drink Tea Get Rad’ graphic has been a firm part of the Lovenskate catalogue for a good few years now, and sees Stu’s unfaltering loves for skateboarding and tea drinking perfectly combined in one striking four-colour print. Furthermore, this particular board has its laminates dyed in tea; so if anyone fancies seeing if they can ring a brew out of the deck once its skating life is over, feel free to give it a go. Stu even chucks a free tea bag in with every board sold – what a generous gentleman he is.

This particular tea-stained number comes in at 8” wide, 31.5” in length and sits on a traditional shape with a fairly deep concave, so if you like your boards on the skinny size with a bit of a kick (and you’re enthusiastic about brews), this one is for you.
