Hockey came into being back in 2015, and was the second company created by Anthony Van Engelen and Jason Dill out of the FA World Entertainment umbrella, alongside their hugely successful Fucking Awesome outfit.

The original team consisted of only Donovan Piscopo and John Fitzgerald – both formerly of Alien Workshop– though in its short time in existence, the team has grown to include Ben Kadow and Andrew Allen, both of whom you can now buy pro boards for at your local Hockey retailer.

Despite having a fairly mysterious air around it, Hockey has been quite prolific at producing online video coverage, marking their initial launch with the release of a promo focusing on Piscopo and Fitzgerald, then backing that up with ‘Hockey II’ once Andrew Allen and Ben Kadow were officially added to the squad. They’ve also paired up with stable-mates Fucking Awesome for two ‘Fight Fuck’ edits which see the combined crews taking on New York and Philadelphia.

So, ‘Eyes Without A Face’ – a reference to the 1960 horror film of the same name? A nod to the works of Billy Idol? Only AVE and Dill know for sure. One thing is for certain though, Hockey have been running the graphic of retired Canadian ice hockey goaltender Bernie Parent – which is lifted off the cover of the February 24th 1975 issue of Time Magazine – pretty hard since the company started.

This time around, Bernie’s haunting face can be found adorning an army green 8” deck on a traditional popsicle shape with a fairly steep kick, so whether you prefer blasting transitions like demo-mode Donovan or blindly chucking yourself at a 15 stair kinked hubba like Ben Kadow, if you’re in the market for a narrower Hockey board, the FA World Entertainment group have got you covered.
