Having started out life in 2012 as a Newport centred but internationally focused gang of skateboarding reprobates, Carve Wicked has grown and mutated over the years to the point where, in early 2017, it was announced that it had infected the skateboard market itself and had re-emerged from the Newport wilderness as a living and breathing (well, wheezing at least) board company. Headed up by the power hungry Carve Wicked CEO Sam Pulley, the CRV/WKD team also includes such harbingers of stunts as Carluke’s Colin ‘Cannibal Col’ Adam, and the incomparable yet always amazing skateboarding gypsy known as Sox.
Shiner Distribution were responsible for spreading the initial drop of Carve Wicked boards around the unsuspecting country, and with graphics that included a Sox themed reworking of Matt Pritchard’s infamous ‘Tidy’ board for Panic Skateboards, a 9” wide ‘Bell Hanger’ beast for Colin Adam and a questionable yet mirth inducing ‘One Love’ board for artist-turned-sex offender Rolf Harris, this first release of Carve Wicked boards flew off the shelves faster than shamed 1970s disc jockeys vanished off the airwaves during 2013.

Coming in at a steady 8.25” wide, this hot of the press ‘Malibu’ board is slightly narrower than the one you can typically find Sam Pulley himself terrorising transitions all over the globe on, but with a nice deep concave on the nose and tail and a 14.2” wheelbase perfectly complimenting the 31.75” length, the overall shape won’t be too dissimilar. If transition is your preferred terrain and you don’t require too much width on your deck, this Carve Wicked Sam Pulley pro board is one for the wish list.
