DC King of Dublin 2009 – Happy St Patrick’s Day

This is probably unthinkable these days but back in 2009 DC shoes somehow convinced the city of Dublin to give free reign to hordes of skateboarders from all over the globe to descend on generally 100% unskateable spots. The result was one of the most chaotic weekends in recent skate history. Honestly, looking back on this one we genuinely cannot believe that it happened. DC rented out an entire housing complex, stacked it full of skaters from across Ireland and the globe (PJ Ladd was actually there strangely enough) and basically paid for 100’s of skateboarders to skate and get hammered on free booze for 48 hours. Absolutely bonkers in retrospect.

Seeing as it’s St Patrick’s Day today – we thought we’d give you reminder of what happens when free booze meets unfettered access to every spot in Dublin. Nuts.
Featuring Irish heads Gav Coughlan, Keith Walsh, Al Collins and Cian Eades to name but a few, plus visiting heads from the UK, Europe and the States.
Major big ups to everyone involved in DC King of Dublin 2009 – God only knows how you managed to pull this one off!
